Are there any iPhone/iOS settings I should or shouldn’t use with my Dexcom ONE app?

Here are some recommended settings for iPhone devices, to help ensure you get all Dexcom ONE app alerts and sensor readings. Visit Dexcom.com/compatibility for a list of devices and operating systems compatible with the Dexcom ONE app.

The location of each setting may be different depending on your device and operating system version.

Don’t Use These Phone Features

These phone features can prevent the app from working. The app can’t alert you about these phone features.

 

Screen Time

Screen Time's Downtime and App Limits can temporarily disable apps. If you set time limits for the Dexcom ONE app, you may not open the app, get alerts or sensor readings.

How to turn Screen Time off?

  1. Go to phone Settings
  2. Tap Screen Time
  3. Turn off Downtime and App Limits, or add Dexcom ONE app to the Always Allowed app list

 

Do Not Disturb

Do Not Disturb silences all alerts. To hear your alarm and alerts, Do not use Do Not Disturb.

How to turn Do Not Disturb off?

  1. Go to phone Settings
  2. Turn off Do Not Disturb

 

Low Power Mode

Low Power Mode may prevent the Dexcom ONE app from running in the background when you don’t have the app open and displayed on your phone screen. When Low Power Mode is on, alerts may be delayed.

How to turn Low Power Mode off?

  1. Go to phone Settings
  2. Tap Battery
  3. Turn off Low Power Mode

 

Required Permissions

You must allow these permissions for the app, or it won’t work as designed.

 

Notifications

Notifications let you get sensor readings and alerts on your phone. Allow notifications for the Dexcom ONE app to work.

How to turn Notifications on?

  1. Go to phone Settings
  2. Tap Dexcom ONE
  3. Tap Notifications
  4. Turn on Notifications

 

Background App Refresh

App Refresh keeps the Dexcom ONE app running in the background when you don’t have the app open and displayed on your phone screen. If Background App Refresh is off, your alerts and sensor readings may be delayed.

How to turn Background App Refresh on?

  1. Go to phone Settings
  2. Tap Dexcom ONE
  3. Turn on Background App Refresh

 

Bluetooth

The Dexcom ONE app uses Bluetooth to connect with your sensor. Apple requires you to give the Dexcom ONE app permission to use Bluetooth. You must keep Bluetooth Permission turned on for the Dexcom ONE app to work.

How to turn Bluetooth Permission on?

  1. Go to phone Settings
  2. Confirm device Bluetooth is on
  3. Tap Dexcom ONE
  4. Turn on Bluetooth permission
